Overnight accommodations at the Siddha Yoga Ashram in Oakland are available for Siddha Yoga students attending events as well as for those who wish to spend time immersed in the Ashram daily schedule.

Overnight visitors coming for an Ashram event may consider extending their visit a few days before or after the event. On days when not attending the event, visitors are expected to follow the Ashram daily schedule, including a minimum of six hours of seva each day.

So that you can focus on the Siddha Yoga practices while at the Ashram, please avoid combining your stay at the Ashram with other activities, such as attending a conference or social gathering like a wedding. This guideline supports the sacred atmosphere of the Ashram.

Criteria for Overnight Visitors at the Siddha Yoga Ashram in Oakland

• Current, active engagement in the study and practice of the Siddha Yoga teachings.

• Adherence to a code of conduct that is consistent with Siddha Yoga teachings that uphold the sacredness of the Ashram environment: showing love, respect, and kindness toward others and treating all property of SYDA Foundation and other people with care.

• Event participants are expected to follow the event schedule.

• Visitors staying on days when there are no events are expected to follow the Ashram daily schedule and offer a minimum of six hours of seva each day.

• Visitors are expected to clean their room, and remove used linens on departure.

• Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.

 Room Rates

The following rates are per person per night:

• Single with en suite bathroom: $130

• Single: $110

• Double: $90

• Dorm: $60

Other Information

• There are twenty-six steps to the Main Building second floor, where the rooms are located.

• Showers and toilets are shared and are located along the hallways.

• There are a few single en suite rooms with a private shower and toilet.

• There is no provision for Wi-Fi access or telephones.

Travel Information

Visitors are responsible for their own transportation to and from the Ashram. The Ashram does not provide travel assistance with airport shuttle, taxi, or car rental. Please see Contact Us for directions.
